Abstract
Intramural implantation is among the rarest sites for ectopic pregnancy. The correct diagnosis of intramural pregnancy in early gestation is difficult. Transvaginal ultrasound is the current method for the diagnosis of the localization of pregnancy, but in early pregnancy the correct localization of the sac is somtimes difficult. Recently MRI has been used for the diagnosis of rare forms of ectopic pregnancy. In this case, laparotomic findings correlated exactly with the MRI description. Transvaginal ultrasound with MRI permitted a timely diagnosis before the rupture of ectopic pregnancy and influenced our decision to perform a surgical intervention in a case in which a definitive clinical diagnosis was not obvious. We report the case where MRI plays an important role in confirming early diagnosis of intramural pregnancy.
Key Words: Intramural pregnancy, Ectopic pregnancy, MRI
