A Case of Wernicke`s Encephalopathy Associated with Hyperemesis Gravidarum.

Abstract
A 39-year-old woman with severe hyperemesis gravidarum developed acute Wernicke`s encephalopathy during prolonged intravenous fluid therapy. She had severe nausea and vomiting for 2months, she suddenly showed nystagmus, ataxia, and confusion. MR imaging showed bilateral symmetrical high signal intensities, around the third ventricle and aqueduct of sylvius on axial and coronal Flair images, which was resolved after treatment with massive amount of thiamine for 2weeks. We experienced a case of Wernicke`s encephalopathy associated with severe hyperemesis gravidarum and report on it with a brief review and related literature.
